Join Don’t Forget the Pets for a special presentation with My Dog is My Home, a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness and their companion animals. They'll delve into the significance of the human-animal bond for people experiencing homelessness and examine the impact of co-sheltering through a storytelling lens.
Pets offer unconditional love and emotional support, serving as vital companions during challenging times. In this one-hour presentation, they'll be joined by Jillian McMillian, My Dog Is My Home board member, who will share her story of pet-loss while experiencing homelessness. Then, they’ll explore the benefits of family connections, grief, and innovative solutions like pet-inclusive shelters and community programs that support this bond.
